Caledonian School is an accredited testing centre for London Tests of English for Children.


Who are the London Tests of English for Children suitable for?
International language exams London Tests of English for Children (LTEfCH) are suitable for children from 7 – 14 years.

What is the goal of the London Tests of English for Children?
The goal of the LTEfC language exam is to make the experience of learning English memorable and motivating for the child.


What do the London Tests of English for Children consist of?
LTEfC have the following parts:
1) Listening
2) Reading
3) Writing
4) Speaking

At all the language levels, reading and listening comprehension and writing are tested. At lower levels, the focus is on specified vocabulary and grammar. During the speaking part, children play board games or other games or they have a short interview.

In order to make the exam less stressful, there is a 5-7 minute break during which children can relax or play.


When do I have to register for the London Tests of English for Children?
It is necessary to register for the LTEfc at least 4 weeks before the exam. It is also possible to register later – in this case, there is an additional fee. You can find more information in the Current Dates and Prices section.



When will I receive results?
Each candidate will receive the results of the LTEfC exam within 6 weeks of taking the exam. Candidates will obtain a certificate one week after receiving the results.

On the certificates, performance of the candidates is evaluated by the following:

  • Merit
  • Pass
